RVM-CSI SIG: Call for Candidates

Hi all,


As per the policy governing chairs and vice chairs, we are holding a call for candidates for the positions of Chair and Vice-Chair for the RVM-CSI (RISC-V eMbedded – Common Software Interface) SIG, under the Apps and Tools HC. To nominate yourself or another member of the community, please mail help@... with a short biography of the candidate (less than 250 words) as well as a statement of intent (less than 250 words). Both Chair and Vice-Chair are available, so candidates may nominate for one or both roles.  The closing date for nominations is 13th March 2023.


The current charter for the RVM-CSI SIG, approved by the Apps and Tools HC, can be found in the git repo for the SIG:




Qualifications include:

  • Experience in embedded software development, preferably in the area of low-level “bare-metal” software at the HW/SW interface.
  • English language proficiency
  • Familiarity with existing HALs
  • Understanding of RISC-V International policies and practices
  • Enthusiasm for the goals of RVM-CSI as laid out in the charter.


Duties as chair/vice-chair (see Best Practices document) include:

  • Collaboration with other groups within the RISC-V Foundation
  • Formation, guidance and supervision of TGs to work on the RVM-CSI specification and compatibility test suite
  • Community interactions through meetings, mail list, GitHub, Wiki
  • Respond to queries within 48 hours
  • Manage and run regular meetings as per the group charter
  • Publish meeting minutes
  • Attend weekly tech-chairs meetings
